Moving Forward Glocal’s 20 Under 20 2018

In Glocal Teen Hero 2018, the new batch of Glocal’s 20 under 20 was announced. These teen spirits have been working actively after the recognition. Not just continuing with their own initiations but also creating new and sharing to empower others.

The finalists of Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero 2018 organized an experience sharing session, ‘Inspire Pokhara’ at Junior Citizens’ Academy on December 6, 2018 which was attended by almost 100 students of the school.

With the motive to end Child Marriage, Glocal Teen Hero 2018, Prashamsha KC conducted an awareness campaign in Rukum giving workshop to 1200 students, Aama Samuha in collaboration with Glocal and support from Zonta Club of Kathmandu.

Sahil Gupta from Janakpur initiated Visit Janapkur campaign and successfully worked on two bigh projects Mars Rover and Drone with his robotic team-The Robo Crew. His team participated in the drone competiton such as Battle Robo 2.5, Kathmandu Mini Maker Faire, Sangam 2075 and IES Vision 18. His team of 4 members visions to make Janakpur as a innovation center. The team have future plan to organize many different events for people to showcase their talents and to provide platform for those who are seeking to display their creations.

Dipisha Bhugel has been working in the national level event “Udan” that aims for gender empowerment and is going to be held in Butwal at the end of December. She has been involved in community activation program of Ujyalo Foundation for “combating gender-based violence through innovation and behavior change”.

Similarly, Palisha Shakya is taking leadership training organized by Women Lead Nepal which is 4 months long program gievn to school students only.
Similarly, Aachal Adhikari has been working in conducting training program and research propgram with the farmer in Parbat. Providing training or presentation and speaking, Ashutosh Sapkota is on his way to creating skilled youths.

Abhishek Adhikari is planning to organize Nepal’s First Flowerhorn Competition and Inventor, Bikalpa is involved in Project Search and also gave session to 500 students about how one can innovate themselves.

The motive of the event was to create the awareness among the students regarding the active roles of youths to uproot the malpractices of the society and assist in the expected developmental process of the country.

Anil Pradhan formed NGO named Robotic Association of Nepal. He conducted theory and practical workshop to students in Jhapa in the filed of Science, Technology and Robotics. The NGO supports students to make and inpire young minds in technology. Till now, 4 school students have been trained in Jhapa through his NGO.

Deepa Adhikari had an opportunity to serve as a moderator in the panel discussion “Intellectual Entrepreneurship: Think Tank and Policy Making” and participated in Her Story- Residential movie making workshop on November 4, 2018. As social activist, she has been woking in projects Child Labour Elimination and Katha Aarambha ko in Pokhara.

Amit Khanal participated in Youth Leadership and Data Workshop conducted by YUWA. As part of workshop, he was involved in tracing data of drug abusers and rehab centers in province 5 and Butwal to encourage drug abusers to visit rehabilitation centers.

Moreover, Kobid Raj Panthy is collaborating to make conduct conference.Rhythm have completed his six month long research on Smartphone Addiction. Swornim Shrestha is developing curriculum for students using Practical/Maker Approach.
