About Glocal Teen Hero Sri Lanka

Glocal Teen Hero Sri Lanka is a national recognition platform dedicated to celebrating outstanding Sri Lankan teenagers who are creating meaningful impact in society beyond academics. Initiated by Glocal Pvt. Ltd., the program recognizes teenagers for their initiative, creativity, and leadership.

The winner of Glocal Teen Hero Sri Lanka will represent Sri Lanka at the Glocal Teen Hero South Asia 2026 Regional Ceremony in Nepal.

The initiative empowers teenagers to step beyond their comfort zones, explore innovative ideas, and build entrepreneurial thinking. Participating provides teenagers with:

Mr. Mohamed Amazir Mohamed Amanath

Glocal Teen Hero Sri Lanka 2026

Mohamed Amazir Mohamed Amanath is a 17-year-old astronomy educator, researcher, author, and STEM advocate from Sri Lanka. Passionate about astronomy since the age of 12, he founded Nebula Nova Academy to make astronomy education more accessible and affordable. Through courses, space camps, telescope observation programs, and the Astronomy Society of Al Hira, he has introduced more than 60 students to practical astronomy.

Amazir has authored three astronomy books and contributed to cosmology research. He is also exploring the use of machine learning and spatial analysis for Dengue Risk Mapping in Sri Lanka, connecting science and technology with real-world challenges.

As Glocal Teen Hero Sri Lanka 2026, Amazir represents a generation of young people turning curiosity into action. He hopes to expand astronomy education across Sri Lanka and beyond while contributing to scientific research and AI-driven discoveries.
