Mr. Sakti K.C. is a 19 year old AI Enthusiast from Gulmi. He is a passionate student driven by curiosity and a desire to use his knowledge and skills to positively impact society. He aims to address issues in Nepali society through innovative solutions using AI, web technologies, and electronics. Shakti believes in making learning enjoyable and accessible, motivating him to organize educational programs in remote areas of Nepal. His goal is to continue innovating and empowering others through technology, leaving a lasting positive impact on his community and beyond.
His Work
He sometimes feels envious of the vast knowledge available, like a hidden treasure waiting to be unearthed without a guiding map. Determined to be the guide for students in Nepal, he is developing KaloKalam, a platform dedicated to providing inclusive computer education in remote areas. He is actively collaborating with principals in Pyuthan and Gulmi to implement this program in their schools. In response to over 4,500 wildfires in Nepal this year, which have burned around 2,368 hectares of forest, he has created a Forest Fire Detection System to manage fires more effectively. While the model is complete, he is refining it to better safeguard lives, wildlife, and forests. Additionally, he is collaborating with the Uunchai team to revitalize Nepali storytelling traditions through an AI model named Bhanu.
Impact
He combines his passion for technology with a commitment to helping others, making significant contributions to his community and beyond. He organized programs to teach computer fundamentals and advanced topics like quantum computing in remote schools, sparking students’ interest in technology. He developed ScholarsPortal to provide essential learning resources, and showcased KalimaSat at the Nepal First Science Conference and Fair 2023, inspiring students in satellite technology. He led the Extraterrestrial Hunters team, discovering potential asteroids and enhancing Nepal’s space research presence. His API and AI model assist farmers with plant disease detection, while his accident alert system improves emergency responses.
Additionally, he created Daddys Kitchen, an e-commerce platform for convenient food ordering. His projects aim to foster education, improve safety, advance technology, and support local communities, driving social change and empowerment through technology.
