Mr. Shreejay Subedi is a 18 year old Tech Enthusiast from Parsa. He is a high school graduate and tech enthusiast, has made a significant impact through his ventures. He founded Venture Tech Nepal, creating the Kathmandu Bus Route app and the Surakshya safety app. His award-winning film, “The Stone that Grinds Through the Ages,” has gained international recognition. He also directs Nayachapter Nepal, organizes STEM education outreach, and currently researches AI biases at Indigo Research. Shreejay is launching Application, an Ed-Tech startup, and enjoys playing guitar in his spare time.

 His Work

He is a research scholar at Indigo Research, studying AI bias with Prof. Siddarth Krishnan from UNC Charlotte. He founded Venture Tech Nepal, developing the Kathmandu Bus Route app for public transport navigation and the Surakshya app for real-time safety alerts. As a filmmaker, he directed the award-winning documentary The Stone that Grinds Through the Ages, recognized by the British Council and screened at KIMFF. As Director of Naya Chapter Nepal, he leads fundraising campaigns, donating educational supplies to schools and orphanages. Shreejay mentors students in STEM through robotics classes and government-funded bootcamps. He is also launching Application, a college application mentorship startup, and has represented Nepal internationally, securing top ranks in the Nepal Mathematical Modeling Challenge and World Scholar’s Cup. His work spans technology, education, safety, and filmmaking, creating meaningful community impact.

 Impact

He founded Venture Tech Nepal, a nonprofit initiative focused on solving real-world problems through technology. He developed the Kathmandu Bus Route Application, an open-source mobile app that helps over 1,000 users navigate public transportation in the Kathmandu Valley. He also created the Surakshya app under the guidance of Microsoft engineers, which provides crime updates and safety resources. As a filmmaker, he directed the award-winning documentary The Stone that Grinds Through the Ages, highlighting the challenges faced by traditional water mills. As Director of Nayachapter Nepal, Shreejay led donation programs supporting under-resourced schools and orphanages. In education, he taught robotics to over 300 students and mentored young girls in STEM. Currently, he is an AI researcher at Indigo Research, working on AI bias mitigation and developing Applicat, a college application mentorship startup for high school students.
