Aditi Jain is a 16-year-old enthusiastic innovator from Delhi, who uses technology to solve global issues. She has developed more than 10 mobile applications and each of them aims to solve global problems.
Jain is a Technovation Gold Medalist i.e. the largest global entrepreneurship program and also the winner of various National contests like Google Code to learn and National Science Concours. Irrespective of her products based on social good, she is also a community server. Being a Technovation Student Ambassador, she has mentored, supported, and motivated more than 50 girls to make a career in IT. She is also a member of “Girls Who Code Club” and “Girls Code It” where she teaches underprivileged girls. Also, Jain is the Country Head at ‘Why Waste’ which is an initiative to save water around the country through which she has saved over 50 million litres of water. Also, she takes workshops on various topics of awareness.
She is one of the Finalists of Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero India 2020. We had a few conversations with her regarding her projects;
How was your experience when you were announced as the Top 6 Finalist of Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero India?
The mail of the official announcement reached me on the auspicious festival of Diwali. I was thrilled and amazed at the same time and the news doubled up our excitement and joy. It felt quite honored and therefore I also want to present my sincere gratitude towards Glocal Pvt. Ltd. for this amazing opportunity and for allowing me to showcase my work to a larger audience.
What inspired you to work in the innovator and technovation sector?
Inspiration comes from within. All the problems that my community was facing led me to innovate solutions for them to eradicate those issues and make lives simpler. I am very sensitized to the social issues or the problems prevalent in my community. And so the biggest inspiration of mine is the community issues only. Because as to solve them I innovate and I use technology to make it implementable.
What is the best thing that keeps you motivated?
The whole process of change-making is very effortful but at the end of the day, you feel like it was all worth it. The problem-solving activities that I got through during my process of change-making are the thing that I enjoy the most and that motivates me to keep going on the journey. 
Also, I am kind of a workaholic. I can’t live with peace without working. Studying or doing any other activity for more hours makes me feel like I have done so much work. But when I do my tech work, then I feel light and fresh. I think that it’s the beauty of human nature that when you love some kind of work, then you do it as a relaxation activity more than as work. Brainstorming for various ideas, implementing them perfectly makes me feel as if I am in another world, and enjoying its culture and diversities.
As you are involved in different sectors from at an early age. How do you define “Age Is Just A Number” in your opinion?
I completely agree with the fact that “Age is Just a Number.” Some kids found companies at the age of 13 and on the other hand, we have legends like Colonel Sanders who found a company at the age of 62. The activities or the projects that we pursue are independent of age. More than the age, the interest or the passion of a person in a field is a bigger driving force for them to work dedicatedly, where the age plays no role except for providing the necessary experience.
What advice can you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
I think motivation is the key factor that is required for a person to get inspired to accomplish something. Everyone has motivation when they work hard like being on top of the world. So, I want aspiring entrepreneurs to extract their motivation or a target or an impact that they want to create in the community and after that when the fire within them will blow up to achieve that target then even they won’t be able to stop themselves from accomplishing what they want. What is your future goal?
My future goal is to start up a company not just to earn money but to help people who are less fortunate than I am. I aim to cater to the needs of a larger community or a larger audience.
What message would you like to deliver to the teenagers?
My message to the teenagers would be that this adolescence period which they generally categorized as a period to focus on their academics and have fun, is the period where if they work hard in the right direction then they can be many steps ahead of many other people in that field. Teenagers should identify their passion, start working hard on it and the more early they will start the more prosperous and secure their future will be. This is the age when they are full of energy and enthusiasm and by putting it in the right direction, they can reach new heights.
