Dikshya Gautam is an 18-year-old passionate Child Right Activist from Kathmandu who has been involved in several activities related to child rights, and youth empowerment. She has had an interest in working for the children, women and Elderly citizens since her early childhood.

Currently, Dikshya is working as a Reporter in Mega Television and as Secretary of Tokha Nagar Baal Sanjal. During the Lockdown period, She cooperated with Nepal Scouts to provide food to needy people and nextly for quality education. She has worked in a child club and has raised the voice for quality education in government schools as well as private schools. Additionally, She has been reporting and writing reports about the bad and injustice happening in society and has addressed the attention of the related department.

Her Journey

Dikshya started her journey working in Scout for the past 8 years which spread the voluntary works in a large mass. Additionally, for the last 6 years, She has been working in the sector of children. She is currently the Secretary in Tokha Nagar Baal Sanjal, which creates various ways for child-friendly local governance. 

Dikshya is actively involved in several projects and programs that work towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has conducted different programs such as self-defence training for the girls of Tokha Nagarpalika, taken part in menstrual hygiene and sanitary pads distribution programme, along with this she has created a platform for the children to share their problems and discuss with each other to find solutions. The role she has been playing to make a difference in society. 

Dikshya said she was motivated to work in the sector of children because of Ms Bipana Sharma. The work she has been doing really inspired her to work in this sector.

Dikshya is a visionary journalist and a reporter who wants to improve her society by highlighting different pressing issues. As a journalist, she wants to make people listen to the words of the unheard and needy through her writing and voice which has always been her dreams since childhood. 

She is working with a vision of making Nepal into a better place to live in for every other child. She always wants to motivate youngsters through her story and continue to work for the children.

Through her writing; She has grabbed the attention on social issues and has awared about the social evils and problems.

Dikshya Gautam was selected among the 20 brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators, and game changers below the age of 20 in Nepal, for the year 2020. This annual list is the ultimate honor roll of young game changers reshaping Nepal for the better. The platform seeks to encourage the youths to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other youths in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking.
