Mr. Ranjan Shankar, from Tehrathum, is a 19 years old STEM Education Advocate with a passion for learning. He is a flexible person and is interculturally adept. Besides that, Ranjan is very fond of Karate. He has won two bronze medals in Karate.  Ranjan is associated with Mathematics Initiatives in Nepal. He led and managed the team at Junior Mathematics Olympiad Camp. Also, he trained over 130 students for 4 weeks from all over the country for olympiads. Besides this, he facilitated Media Literacy and Climate Change Workshops with 60+ students. Apart from that, he has conducted Book Bus readings and has  mentored students to create their own newspaper samples. He also worked as a content creator for Astronomy Olympiad; the first ever learning platform for olympiad aspirants.  He has conducted various workshops in public schools, which are designed to educate students about some of the current issues of the world. 

Impact Created

His works are helping to eradicate the belief of the stereotype that “mathematics isn’t for girls.” His awareness campaign is working for the involvement of girls in the STEM field. He reached more than 300 students and successfully introduced students to new techniques for understanding mathematics and the beyond scopes of a career in STEM. Ranjan also worked to provide attainable education and scholarship to underprivileged students. His work encouraged youth participation in tech. 
Ranjan Shankar has been selected as a “Glocal’s 20under20 of 2022 Batch” as an early change-maker throughout the nation. Glocal’s 20 under 20 is an umbrella title for 20 early change-makers, who are teenagers from diverse fields, stepping out to create an impact in the society.
