Education Access & Youth Empowerment

From the quiet kid in the back of the room to the one telling everyone else’s story.

Nishan grew up in far-eastern Panchthar, a self-described background kid who rarely spoke up — until his mother’s COVID illness forced him to step up for his family. That same push carried him to Kathmandu for college, where frustration with hollow, meetings-only “leadership” clubs led him and a few peers to found the Junior Empowerment Circle from scratch. What started as a handful of frustrated students has since reached over 20,000 young people and directly impacted 6,000+ high schoolers across two chapters. His latest project, done mostly behind a camera, has already turned into a full scholarship for one rural student who otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance.

20,000+ people reached, 6,000+ students directly impacted through JEC · 1 full scholarship secured for a rural student through Project Kuhiro
