Mr. Suraj Sapkota is a 19-year-old Social Activist from Nawalparasi. Currently, He is serving as Covid-19 Campaigner Volunteer at Paschima Paaila and as a general member of Rotaract Club of Kawasoti. He has been appointed as Youth Counselor at Scholastic Foundation Nepal.

He is also a volunteer member of the Chitwan Youth Thinkers Society. He was named Best Speaker of the Year 2074 at Nawalpur Academy, which motivates him to keep moving forward. To mark his success; He has led the Smart Club at Nawalpur Academy as President for 2073-2074 tenures. Also, he has six months experience of teaching in the Nawalpur Academy as a Volunteer Teacher.

Additionally, Suraj is also a  certified Self-Defense Instructor and a World Taekwondo Headquarter ( Kukkiwon ) accredited 2nd Dan Taekwondo Player. He has been commencing Self-defense Workshop for Girls in collaboration with different organizations. In support of the Rotaract Club of Kawasoti, he has inaugurated Self-Defense Training at Shree Shiva Secondary School. For the self-defence training; several organizations in his District have commended it and given it significant attention.

Suraj is inspiring millions of girls to be strong and resist social taboos through self-defense training. His work has had a great impact on the country, instilling in young girls a sense of respect and honor. His determination and positive attitude will lead him to the acme of success. In the next five years, he wants to be an International Self –Defense Trainer.

Suraj Sapkota has been selected as a “Glocal’s 20under20 of 2021 Batch” as an early change-maker throughout the nation. Glocal’s 20 under 20 is an umbrella title for 20 early change-makers, who are teenagers from diverse fields, stepping out to create an impact in the society.
