Swaraj Sagar Pradhan is an 18-year-old programmer from Lalitpur. He is currently working with his team at SEDS Nepal on a rocket project named “Garuda” which is currently being developed for the Spaceport America Cup 2020. Next, Also with his team at Physics Initiatives in Nepal, They have been forming a closely-knit community of young physics enthusiasts here in Nepal and providing learning as well as networking opportunities for everyone involved. Besides that, they are also working towards breaking the gender imbalance in the fields of STEM with Initiatives for Girls in Physics. Apart from that, He is also into the Model UN Team and advocates Quality Education, reduced inequality, gender equality, affordable and clean energy.

Additionally, He has created impactful and historical achievement and was recognized for securing the gold medal in the 8th Asia Pacific Conference of young scientists 2019.

His Journey

When he was a 6-year-old, the strange yet beguiling nature of physics has always fascinated him to learn more and explore the beauty that lies within it. This curiosity led him to start his journey working with NASO in early 2016. From the age of 14, he formally started his journey. Now, He is actively working in different organizations pursuing and working in the fields of STEM while also advocating its widespread outreach and awareness. 

Swaraj has an interest in a variety of subjects ranging from Physics, Mathematics & Robotics to even Music as well. Things like Astrophysics and Physics as a whole that excite him and lead him through the path of scrutinizing the universe and discovering the secrets of the universe. All this while still working best to provide free and quality education as much as possible and create impactful outreach opportunities.

Through his works in robotics, he helps people to learn the basics of the foundations of the new world and guide them with proper assistance and mentorship.

Swaraj Sagar Pradhan was selected among the 20 brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators, and game changers below the age of 20 in Nepal, for the year 2020. This annual list is the ultimate honor roll of young game changers reshaping Nepal for the better. The platform seeks to encourage the youths to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other youths in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking.
